"... During the summer of 1911 a young man from Utah, Elmer Sweat, came to visit his cousin David Sweat, who lived in Carey. He found work on a ranch there and decided to stay for the summer. One night David took Elmer with him to the local dance. As they stood looking the girls over Elmer spotted Wilhelmina and said to David, "When I leave here I'm taking that one with me." David said, "No you are not! That is my girl!" Well, on the 30 October 1911 Elmer Sweat and Wilhelmina Jane Wilde were married in Hailey, Blaine, Idaho. Strangely enough David Sweat and Cora A. Moore went with them and were also married that same day in Hailey. Elmer took Wilhelmina back to Center Creek..."
David and Miss Cora Moore also acted as witnesses for Elmer & Wilhelmina's marriage, as can be seen on the marriage record above.

"... Elmer went to Idaho in 1909 to work with his cousin David Sweat on the Payne ranch in Carey, Idaho. While here he met and married Wilhelmina Jane Wilde. They were married 30 Oct 1911, on his mother's birthday, in Hailey, Idaho. Later that year he brought Wilhelmina to live in the home he owned in Center Creek...
... On the 24 February 1915 Elmer and Wilhelmina were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. He said that before they left the temple that day they received word that his brother Tom had died. Tom had been going to BYU and was preparing to go on a mission. Thus this became not only a very happy day for him but also a very sad day as well..."
