HEBER CITY- Sarah Elizabeth Sweat Lindsay, 87, died of a cerebral hemorrhage March 29 at a Heber City hospital. Born Nov. 15, 1885, Center Creek, Wasatch County, to Louis and Elizabeth Sweat. Married to Bennett Lindsay, Nov. 23, 1905, Center Creek, solemnized Salt Lake LDS Temple. Active member LDS Church. Wasatch County mother of the year, 1959. Survivors: husband; sons, daughter, Mrs. Clyde (Ethel) Broadbent, Mrs. Kenneth (Mabel) Anderson, all Heber City; Mrs. Clyde (Hazel) Howe, Roy; Mrs. Fay (Doris) Parker, Orem; Robert, Huntsville; Bennett, Bountiful; 49 grandchildren; 70 great-grandchildren; brothers, sisters, Orvel, Heber City; Mrs. Della Peterson, Alvie, Otis, Delbert, all Center Creek; Mrs. Lyman (Nina) Fawson, Grantsville. Funeral Saturday, 1p.m., Heber City 3rd-7th LDS Ward chapel. Friends call Olpin Mortuary, Friday, 7-9 p.m. and Saturday before services. Burial Heber City Cemetery. SARAH ELIZABETH LINDSAY
Sarah Elizabeth Sweat Lindsay, 87 of Heber City, died Thursday in a Heber City hospital following a stroke. She was born November 15, 1885 in Center Creek, Wasatch County, a daughter of Louis and Elizabeth Broadhead Sweat.
She married Bennett Lindsay on Nov. 23, 1905 in Center Creek later in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was active in the LDS Church, serving as president of the Primary and Relief Society.
In 1959 Mrs. Lindsay was selected Mother of the Year of Wasatch County. She was a member of the DUP. Mrs. Lindsay had 11 children which included three sets of twins.
Survivors include her husband, four daughters and three sons, Mrs. Clyde (Ethel) Broadbent, Mrs. Kenneth (Mabel) Anderson and Wrex Lindsay all of [Heber] City; Mrs. Clyde (Hazel) Howe, Roy; Mrs. Fay (Doris) Parker, Orem; Robert Lindsay, Weber County; Bennett W. "Ben" Lindsay, Bountiful; 49 grandchildren; 70 great-grandchildren; four brothers and two sisters, Mrs. Della Peterson, Alvie Sweat, Otis Sweat and Delbert Sweat all of Center Creek; Mrs. Lyman (Nina) Fawson, Grantsville and Orvel Sweat, Heber City.
Funeral services were held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Heber City Third-Seventh Ward Chapel. Burial was in the Heber City Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to Primary Children's Hospital.
