The following is an excerpt from the written history of Bennett Lindsay (p.2) found in the personal albums of Veda Cox:
"... Bennett started "sparking" Sarah Sweat the winter of 1902-03.  He had known her all her life as she was a near neighbor.  His Uncle Jimmy Watson was an old bachelor.  He had said, "Bennett, find you a good LDS girl, and raise a good family in the Church.  Don't do as I have done.  I've wasted my life."  He thought this was good advice and Sarah was a beautiful, lovely LDS girl so he was happy when she decided to become his wife on 23rd of Nov. 1905..."

Fred Crook...."

*For the record, their cemetery headstone bears the marriage date of: 15 Nov 1905.  All other documents indicate that they were married on 23 Nov 1905, so that is the date I am sticking with.
