Services Held for Forest E. Mahoney
Forest Erwin Mahoney, 66, 1504 E. 17th South, died at 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, in a Salt Lake hospital of natural causes.
He was born on May 17, 1896 in Heber City, a son of Elmer and Nancy Jones Mahoney. He married Arvilla Woodland on January 27, 1926 in the Salt Lake Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a member of the Edgehill Ward serving as a high priest and ward teacher. He was a World War I veteran. Foreman in Butte, Montana, and Salt Lake City railway post offices. Retired February 2, 1962. For the past twelve years had been president of the National Transport Postal Assn.
Survivors: widow; one son, Brent F. Mahoney, both Salt Lake City; one daughter, Mrs. Lee (Marilyn) Roberts, LaMirada, California; two grandchildren; five brothers, Louris, Ray and Rodney Mahoney, all Heber City; Dr. J.R. Mahoney, Salt Lake City, and Ernest Mahoney, Nevada; sister, Mrs. Lindsay (Thelma) Anderson, Provo.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Edgehill LDS Ward Chapel.
Burial was in the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
