Louis Sweat
HEBER- Louis Sweat, 77, pioneer resident of Center, near here, and active L.D.S. church worker, died Wednesday at the family home, following at 12-day illness.
Mr. Sweat was born September 8, 1859, at Provo, and came to Center as a boy with his family. He had lived there since and at the time of his death was the oldest resident of the community. He married Elizabeth Broadhead in the old Salt Lake City Endowment house January 18, 1883.
Surviving are ten sons and daughters, Lewis, Elmer, Orvel, Alvie H., Otis and Delbert Sweat, Mrs. Sarah Lindsay, Mrs. Della Peterson and Mrs. Emeline Mahoney, all of Center; Mrs. Nina Fawson, Grantsville; 48 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Sarah Ivie, Albert and Joseph Sweat, Fruitland; Brigham Sweat, Daniels, and Mrs. Lucy Ludlow, Roosevelt.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1p.m. in the Wasatch L.D.S. stake tabernacle at Heber by Bishop Bennett Lindsay of the Center L.D.S. ward. Burial will be in Heber city cemetery, under direction of the Olpin mortuary.
Friends may call at the mortuary in Heber until Friday noon, and after that at the family home.

Services Held For Louis Sweat
Funeral services were held in the Stake Tabernacle last Saturday for Mr. Louis Sweat, under the direction of the Center ward with counselor Don Duke conducting.
Services were opened by a quartette composed of bishop Walter Montgomery, Ralph Giles, Nell Ohlwiler, and Mrs. Grant Bond, singing "We Thank The O God for a Prophet," followed by the opening prayer by John Peterson.
The speakers at the services were A.Y. Duke, Clay Cummings, and Bishop Joseph Olpin, all of whom told of their acquaintance with the deceased and gave praise to his sterling qualities and extreme honesty and fair dealing with his fellow men and the success he had made in rearing a large and honorable family.
A special musical number "That Silver Haired Daddy of Mine," was beautifully rendered by Afton Thacker and the closing number was a rendition of "Oh My Father," by the quartette with Miss Sarah Carlen at the piano.
Benediction was pronounced by Andrew Lindsay and interment was in the family lot at the Hober City Cemetery.
