ELIZABETH B. SWEAT
HEBER CITY- Elizabeth Broadhead Sweat, 68, wife of Louis Sweat Sr. of Center ward, died at her home Wednesday night following a prolonged illness.
She was born here Oct 30, 1866, daughter of Robert and Alice Clegg Broadhead. She was married January 18, 1883 to Mr. Sweat. Thirteen children were born to this union, ten of whom, with their father, survive; Louis Jr., Mrs. Sarah Lindsay, Elmer, Orvel, Mrs. Della Peterson, Mrs. Emeline Mahoney, Alvie, Otis, and Delbert of Center, and Mrs. Nina Fawson of Grantsville. She also is survived by six great-grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: Elmer Broadhead, Heber City; Thomas Broadhead, Tabiona; Mrs. Mary Broadhead, Nephi; Mrs. Rose Horrocks, Vernal; Mrs. Margaret Ivie, Center and David Broadhead, Heber.
Mrs. Sweat was a faithful Latter-day Saint. She was affectionately known as "The mother of Center ward." She was an ardent Releif society worker and served as a block teacher for more than 35 years.
Funeral services will be held here Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Wasatch stake tabernacle at Heber. Interment will be in the local cemetery.
