Delbert Sweat
HEBER CITY- Delbert Sweat, 82, died Sunday March 2, 1997, at his home in Heber City.
He was born in the same home on May 12, 1914.  He was the youngest of 13 children born to Louis and Elizabeth Broadhead Sweat.  He was married to Lorna Atwood on November 11, 1935, in Hanna, Utah; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
He lived his entire life in Heber City, Utah, except for the last 17 years in which he lived in Gilmer, Texas, during the winters.
As a young man, he worked in the CC camps.  He was a rancher most of his life and also worked for the State Road Commission for many years.  He has been active in the LDS Church and has served as a bishop and held many other church positions throughout his life.  His family and friends could always depend on him to assist or counsel them in any way he could.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Lorna Atwood Sweat; six brothers and four sisters.
He is survived by a brother Otis Sweat; sister, Nina Fawson; four children: Jean Pilcher; Rex W. Sweat of Gilmer, TX; Lew R. Sweat, Heber City; and Merle Jones of Salt Lake City; 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 5, 1997, at 11 a.m. in the Center Creek Ward chapel (2400 So. Mill Rd).  Friends may call at Olpin Mortuary (288 No. Main) Tuesday 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday at the church 9:30-10:30 a.m. Interment, Heber City Cemetery.
