DEATH: 9 Mar 1972- Heber City, Wasatch, Utah
He was 84 years old when he died.

The following comes from a document entitled, "Life Story of Elmer Sweat" (p.6).  It was found in the personal albums of Veda Cox and gives some detail on his last moments in life:
"... Elmer became ill.  It just seemed that his body finally wore out.  Doctors talked of him showing signs of having had a heart attack.  They finally did a prostate operation which they said went well but from that time on Elmer was not always in the present.  Boyd and Shirley took him to their home and cared for him there.  He wanted to be in Center Creek so [he] would not come to any of the girls homes.  The day before he died some of his brothers visited him and they said he was able to talk with them and they had a nice visit.  He died 9 March 1972 in the hospital in Heber, his daughter Veda being with him that day.  He was buried in the Heber Cemetery.  He had seven brothers and sisters still living all attended his viewing and funeral."
