The following is an excerpt from the personal history of Bennett Lindsay regarding his death, written by an unknown descendant but found in the personal albums of both Sharleen May and Veda Cox:
"...Not too long after he celebrated his 90th birthday his wife had a stroke.  He was determined to stay by himself as his health was good.  About one month later he had the misfortune to fall down the basement stairs which nearly killed him.  He had to be hospitalized for one month, then for the next three years he had to stay with his daughters as he never fully recovered.  He passed away July 8, 1976 in Center Creek not much over one-half mile from where he was born, and in the little community he had spent practically all his life."

Because Bennett died in the last 50 years his death certificate will not become publicly available until around the year 2026.  When it is available I will post it here.
